Monday March 25th is the day 12 of us will begin the five day juicing program. this is an individual goal for each of the twelve participants but also utilising the support of In The RAW makes it feel like a community event. I reckon it is anyway…….
The first three days were for preparation which is now completed and in the morning the juicing begins. I decided to include a light RAW or lightly steamed evening meal for those who find they are struggling or who may have to work and need the added sustenance. By having 4 to 6 juices per day the detox will happen so a light meal will not alter the detox ….You may have more than 4-6 juices, its up to you and your body!
By now each of us will be coffee, tea, soft drink, alcohol and food preservatives free. You may begin to experience a little fuzziness, or have a slight headache. This will depend on how much of these items you would normally consume! For some, you will experience symptoms of detox and some won’t, Just remember to focus on the end result and why you are participating in this juicing event.
It is a good idea to stay away from nuts and seeds and food that is harder to digest when you have your light meal in the evening. The idea is to give our systems a rest from overworking and then the body has an opportunity to reboot as Joe Cross from “Fat Sick and Nearly Dead” suggests.
Feel free to experiment with your juicing and add any vegetable or fruit you have at home, you don’t need to stick to a particular recipe, but I guess we all have a favourite. one, I love the sweet potato and carrot juice with added ginger it is so yummy.
