Holidays – they are something that we all look forward to so much. We put a large amount of preparation into them and guess what they are done and dusted before we know it.
I have recently been on a holiday with our three children, their partners, and their eight children….oh and my sister Fay from Townsville decided to surprise us (it was her birthday pressie from her hubby Baz).
So off we went to reminisce about our earlier days where the kids found their sea legs and the exciting wiggly things on the reef of Cape Keraudren the sleepy little beach area opposite Pardoo Roadhousse in the North West of WA.
We set off in our bus and Nissan Patrol and the others travelled in their own vehicles. Took us two days to get there with a stop over for ANZAC day in Hedland with family.
I had packed lots of greens into the tiny refrigerator and had even made and froze some green smoothies I am so clever….this will keep me alkalised I thought.
We got to the Billabong Roadhouse and stopped to refuel and whilst inside low and behold they sold fresh juices. I had a Mango and Banana smoothie it was so delicious but very cold anyway what a delight to see something so beautiful served in our North. It kinda blew me away to see that they had a variety of choices. So yummy.
So once we all got there in Cape Keraudren our little fridge with all my beautiful veges decided to give up the ghost and all my veges had to be thrown out. So what will I eat for the rest of the days???
Well I had to make do with fish and crabs and some rice that I had packed with some Thai sauce and some tins of baked beans etc. I certainly did not go hungry but the green holiday turned into a eat what’s there holiday….Oh I also had some wine and cruisers….see I am human.
So holidaying in our North West with the intentions of staying as green and clean as possible turned out to be a time of eat what you can. So the next week or so I am into the juices with a vengance to get my body back into the alkalised state that is best for my body to heal and repair itself….PH is being measured daily to I might add…..
Love & laughter
Chris 🙂
